Official Report: Cheapest hotels in Europe in Istanbul
Despite the increase in hotel occupancy levels in Turkey this year compared to last year, hotel prices in Turkey are still cheaper than in other European countries.
In June 2017, the occupancy rate of hotels in Istanbul, Antalya and Ankara increased by 0.1 percent compared to June 2016 and registered 44.6 percent. The average room rate available in June 2017 was 31 euros, the lowest price in Europe hotels.
Data show hotel occupancy in Turkey in the first half of 2017 between January and June, from 50.8% to 53.3%, with average revenue falling from € 39.4 to € 32.7.
Hotel occupancy in Istanbul rose by 8.5% from 39.9% in June 2016 to 43.2% in June 2017. In contrast, the price of available rooms fell by 10.5% compared to last year and recorded 30.7 euros, up from 34.3 euros in June 2016
