The company THY ("Turkish Airlines") assumes not to limit passengers in using mobile. Since April this year, devices can be used thanks to eXPhone technology, introduced in 2016. This technology is a joint development of Panasonic and AeroMobile. It is designed to meet the consumer demand for cellular communications services on the sides of airliners. EXPhone use Etihad, Cathay Pacific, Aer Lingus, EuroWings, SAS, Air Serbia and other airlines.
Until April, passengers of Boeing 777 and Airbus 330, serviced by THY, could use Wi-Fi and watch TV on board live. For several days now, thanks to eXPhone, they can send mail, text messages, make publications in social networks and send information using smartphones. To use the service is simple: after taking off the airliner, you need to connect the data roaming mode and perform the data transfer. After the aircraft starts to land, the opportunity to use the network disappears.
